Alcohol and energy drinks... not a great mix.

This is not the easiest subject for me to blog about being as I personally do not drink therefore I have a pre-meditated bias against the topic, nevertheless, it still needs to be heard.
People have been hearing lately about the "Four Loco's" drinks that combine energy drinks and alcohol, and they have been causing problems, especially among college age students nationwide. Slowly, but surely, they are being banned from states, but apparently not quick enough. There have been many deaths from this drink, and also others.
A popular way to also consume alcohol is adding red bull, or a different energy drink of that sort and recently a study has been done to see the difference in people just drinking alcohol and those who also add energy drinks to their beverage.
The study shows that people have enough less control when the "problematic" caffeine is added to their already control ceasing drink. People are overindulging because the caffeine makes them not feel buzzed but confused and over stimulated. They lose sight of what is going on quicker and have a less grasp on what is going on and how much they are in fact drinking.
I think its hard enough for people to drink, but now adding caffeine to alcohol is adding a problem to a problem.
God bless,
Lauren
